Auto shut off:
The shut off technology comes with a 3 valve technology in almost all the iron box appliance. They switch off the iron box when no movement of the iron box is detected.

Antique iron:
Antique iron is the earliest forms of iron which has varied shapes and usually these iron boxes are heavy for proper pressing of the clothes. The application of heat is with the help of charcoal kept inside iron box.

Anti-burn control:
The iron box, if left as such on the cloth for prolonged time may burn the cloth or it may even cause burning wounds on the skin in case of accidental contact. So, this control on the iron box, switch off the device after a particular time which works in combination with the auto shut off control.

Cordless irons:
These iron appliances are very much weight less and they are kept on a thermal mass similar to the cordless phones in order to get heated up for pressing. Batteries cannot be used for heavy iron boxes as it may not be sufficient for heating up.

Charcoal Iron:
This is the oldest type of iron box and cheap for the usage of people having ironing shops. The charcoal iron does not use the electrical power for heating up the iron box rather it uses the fired charcoal for heat. But there is a possibility of the coal powders falling on the cloth and making it dirty.

Constant steam:
Constant steam helps in sending a constant steam through the hottest part of the iron box and finally into the cloth for ironing. The steam gives a perfect wrinkle free ironing as it stretches the fibers in the cloth.

Energy saving control:
This component is a power saver. This option shuts off the iron box if it is not being used for prolonged time. This helps in saving power and prevents overheating of the appliance.

Handle:
The handle is present at the top of the iron box which helps the users to hold the iron box and press it over the cloth with maximum pressure to remove wrinkles from the clothing.

Heat-resistant Teflon:
The heat resistant Teflon covers the electrical cord which acts as insulation and prevents the firing of the wired cord.

Heating Element:
The heating element is similar to the one present in the water heaters. They get heated up with the current flow through them via the insulated electrical cord and make the surface under the iron box to be hot.

Ironing board:
The pressing or the ironing is done on the surface or at the top of the ironing board. This ironing board is resistant to heat and they are small and portable form of table serving the ironing purpose. Some of the commercial ironing boards even have pedal operated vacuum to dry the cloth.

Insulation:
The insulation surrounding the iron box helps the user from preventing the heat to mount over the device and thus preventing the injury. This insulation keeps the heat only under the device.

Indicator:
The indicator present in the iron box shows the amount of water present in the water reservoir. If the water level is low then low level indicator beeps thereby alerting the user to refill the water reservoir.

Power Cord:
The power cord is the wire with the plug which is inserted in to the power source for heating the iron box.

Power button:
The power button in the iron box helps the device to switch ON and OFF the iron box. The user can handle the device powering in the appliance itself rather than switching on and off the power switch.

Steam burst:
The steam button present in the iron box is optional. Not all the iron box appliance has the steam burst button. When the user presses the steam burst button, the iron box sends a burst of hot steam on to the cloth.

Steam Dial:
The steam dial present in the iron box helps the user to control the amount of steam emitted from the iron box. This will be similar to a temperature control dial.

Timer:
The timer device is present in all the iron boxes. This device is needed for the auto shut off and the anti-burn control components for switching off the iron box.

Thermostat:
The thermostat present in the iron box has the same functionality as that of the thermostats present in the air conditioners. They help the iron box appliance to maintain a constant temperature over ironing.

Water reservoir:
Water reservoir is the small cup like structure which is present inside the iron box. This water reservoir gives out steam and droplets of water in order to iron the cloth. The steam ejection can be controlled by the user.

Warranty:
All the products come with a manufacturer’s warrant for a maximum period of one year. Within that period the company provides replacement of parts or even the entire device if the defect it’s a manufacturing defect. If the defect is caused due to the negligence of user then the user cannot claim warranty for the same.
